Carla is a big support for all teachers in our school. Carla is always the first to start looking for ways to help other teachers and students. She goes the extra mile for her students.
Carla is always looking for new ways for teaching her students and gaining more knowledge.
Carla Perkins works so hard with her students and staff. Since being at North Mercer, Carla has always gone the extra mile to help teachers and students. Whether it is a classroom idea, listening when you need that ear, or being that friend no matter what. I have watched Carla work to find engaging books for her students to read. Personally she has gotten my non-reader son to find that there are interesting books out there to read. She has even made time to work with students after school to help her build her phonics knowledge. I feel Carla wears many hats within our elementary building. In fact, I hope someday I am as good a teacher, mentor, and person as Carla Perkins.
Carla Perkins has always been a mentor teacher and has made a huge positive impact on my life. This year, Carla has continued to mentor me and praise me for all the things that she sees and hears me doing good in my classroom. She is also willing to give me ideas when she can tell that I am having an off day with my class. She listens whenever I have questions about ways that I could teach my students and reach them better. Her many years in the classroom give her amazing experience that she is very willing to share. I appreciate her openness to not "sugar coat" things but to give me raw information to try, learn from, and process. I feel blessed that we have her in our school.

Our elementary had Christmas STEM fun today! They made roller coasters, catapults, Christmas ornaments, obstacle courses, PE games, Grinch Bingo, snow cones, and a snack room! Thank you for sending snack foods in today! Our students have had a blast today and did a great job building and engineering! #CardinalNation

Art Club Blanket Fundraiser Shipment Update:
The Art Club Spirit Blankets are running behind. The company originally guaranteed our blankets would be delivered by December 15 so we would be able to get them handed out before Christmas break. Unfortunately, that is not looking to be the case. Their new delivery date, that they informed us of this week, is January 3...Mrs. Scroggie is very disappointed with this and sincerely apologizes to all of those who are waiting on their order. Because of this circumstance, if you would like to cancel your order for a full refund please call Mrs. Scroggie at the school (660-382-4214) or send her an email at cscroggie@northmercer.k12.mo.us.
