Congratulations to our September North Mercer Rockstar, Mrs. Eakes! You are an asset to our district and your fellow teachers and staff agree! There were multiple nominations that made the decision easy. Here is what some of the staff had to say about our Mercer Rockstar: *** Melissa is always so happy and positive. She is an amazing teacher and you can tell the passion she has for teaching. She loves her students like they are her own kids and always is finding a way to improve herself to benefit them. I love being able to collaborate with her and will forever be in debt to her for what she has done for me in AND out of the classroom. She truly is one of a kind and I am so glad she is teaching here and that I get to work with her every day!!! ***I think this person deserves to be nominated because I think she truly cares about her students. She rewards them and showers them with positivity but also knows when to be stern and sets reasonable expectations resulting in well behaved, academically rounded students. I enjoy working with her and I truly believe her students enjoy coming to school everyday to her classroom.

George Scurlock Memorial Tournament Oct 7, 2023 ● Entry fee will be $150 ● Each team will provide game balls. Try to have a couple per game. ● We will flip a coin for the home team. ● Higher seed will be in the first base dugout. Warm ups can also be done on the field 3 outfield and behind the temp fence on the baseball field prior to a team taking the game fields. ● If teams use tents or pop ups, please do not set up camps on the concrete and especially around the concession/restrooms facilities. Mrs. Owens' 2nd graders have been working on a STEM activity in science. They had to decide what type of bird they wanted to attract, then build the correct feeder. They needed the right thing for the bird to stand on and the right way for the bird to reach the food. We have some talented builders and some lucky birds! #CardinalNation
